Start your journey from Alcatraz Cruises Ferry Building Terminal (Pier 33) by walking east along The Embarcadero towards Market Street.
After approximately 10 minutes, head north up Market Street to Union Square. Walk one block west on Powell Street and turn left onto Mason Street. You will reach the Cable Car Barn and Museum in about a 5-minute walk.
From there, take the historic cable car down the hill to Fisherman's Wharf (Powell–Mason Line). The ride itself is part of the experience and will drop you off at the heart of Pier 39.
